Hey Yall!
We just moved down to Waxahachie from Little Elm last year. My son and I had some spring time success on the creeks running into north lake Lewisville with the sandies. I am feeling the itch so am going to check out the south prong creek with my boy to find some fish. I will report back, but any help is definitely appreciated.

About 10 years ago I saw 3 cars parked at the 876 bridge, so I stopped to check it out. There were some guys wading the creek and catching small sandbass. Water is very shallow and very clear there, only about a foot or two deep. I never went back and fished it,but I believe it is all private property. Good Luck if you go and Welcome to the TFF!

I will second the tip on the 876 bridge. If you have a Jon boat or kayak you can also put in fairly easy at the 35 bridge, then paddle upstream. Pretty good haul though.

I've been going there since the end of Feb. I park at 35 and have been bank fishing going toward the lake. It's been fairly slow. A few guys have caught a few crappie and a few sandies but I haven't seen anyone hammering them. I've only caught a few LMB. Biggest was about 14" I haven't gone upstream from the bridge though.
