Reports on Sixoldgeezers around Boyscout camp. Just east of Big Mineral. Won't last much longer though.

I understand there are still a few people top-water fishing with some success but myself and most other people that I have talked to lately have gotten away from it about 2 weeks ago. With these cloudy days and rainy conditions that we have had recently is certainly tempting to at least try it before giving totally up on it. The fishing has been incredible lately, I have been out 4 times in the last week and caught lots of fish every time on artificial lures. There are lots of large white (sand) bass and small stripers in the lake along with good box fish. This weather is as good as it gets!

We fished Monday in the rain and Tuesday. We were fishing out of Highport and stayed from Hog Island over to the Boy Scout camp. Not really catching much of anything following the birds using slabs and jigs, Sassy Shads, Flukes, I put on a white slab with a chartreuse jig above it and tried deadsticking . That's when I started catching fish. Just deadsticking off the bottom in 15 - 25 ft. of water. It was a dinkfest as far as the stripers go, the white bass were of pretty good size and saved the day. Not a great trip, but I've had a Texoma jinx on me for a good while and the trip broke that. So I had a great time.
