Richland Chambers white bass and under hybrids are easy pickings right now. Keeper Hybrids are a different story. I've yet to find a single one this spring. We have had 3 straight years of good solid stocking numbers. You would think that some of the bigger fish would be showing up in the main lake by now. RC hybrids always go MIA in the fall and winter. I'm not sure where they go, but they are usually back by now. You hear all kinds of stories of how many fish go through a dam. Some say a bunch do. Some say very few. I'm not sure what to believe on that issue. Curious if anybody else has been able to put any number of keeper hybrids in the boat??? Also curious if any creek fisherman are catching any up Richland or Chambers Creek??? If things don't change pretty soon you TSA guys might as well stay at home on May 7.

There are a few large hybrids being caught shallow early, but the ones catching them aren't publicizing it. It really is weird that they aren't being caught in large numbers yet. I'll bet the lake lost quite a few, but there will still be a large population in the lake. Palestine does the same thing sometimes but they always show back up.

The striper have all but disappeared on us on Lake Livingston as well, but there doesn't seem to be an over abundance of them below the dam. I caught some striper this year behind the Richland Chambers dam that swam all the way up from Livingston. I know they run a LONG way up the rivers and creeks during high flow years.

Were you fishing where Richland/Chambers creek meets the Trinity or in the restricted area with an employee? For years I had a friend that worked for Tarrant Regional and we had some good times fishing below the Dam. Caught some monster hybrids and flatheads. Never any true striper though. It's crazy they can come that far. I always assumed there was a lock or dam somewhere between Livingston and where Richland Creek meets the Trinity that prevented fish from coming up the river that far.

One thing is for sure about Richland Chambers Lake. When Cory Vinson is fishing for white bass, there simply are not any hybrids around. He's the best hybrid fisherman I know.

I was fishing the creek where it meets the restricted zone. I wish I had a contact for fishing the restricted area. You're right about Cory, if he and troy are not on hybrid, chances are nobody is. I ran about 20 guide trips for him last year and we limited out on every single trip except one in September where we catfished. I really hope the lake recovers because it was an incredible hybrid fishery last year and its only 30 min from my house.

Fished everyday this week and we're now getting limits of big Whites but still no big Hybrids. Fished alongside Troy today and he has resorted to Sandbass. I'm still saying any day now! violin

I'm sure I would probably recognize you if you ran that many trips on RC. Just can't put the name with the face. I'm usually in a camouflage G3 boat with my two young boys. Hope to see you out on the water this summer!

I'm currently in a 22' "Blue" Blue Wave and my Son Adam is in a 22' Blue Kenner CC. We launch out of Fisherman's Point and have fished RC since 1994. From March thru August I'm on the Lake six days a week. We fish everyday except Sunday and chase the Whites in the Spring/Summer and Catfish in the Fall/Winter.

See you on the water!
