I know the Corp. Boat ramps are closed on Whitney and that it is flooded. Does anyone know if the Harbor Master Marina ramp is open ? I was thinking of going up and trying the stripers and white bass on top water in the flooded timber.Done it before and it was lights out! Any info would be appreciated .

Just spoke w/ Cliffview Resort. Their ramp is 7+' underwater but can launch from their road if you have the cojones. I know some were launching from the road last year. It's a narrow, winding unpaved road down and you would have to back down a pretty good ways to get to the waters edge...but it's possible. Probably have to stay there a night or 2 to get access. Owner advised that the Corp told her today they would probably start opening gate(s) Monday or Tuesday and expected the lake to crest Tuesday evening....with no more rain in the watershed.

I was out there yesterday and everything got shut down by the corp. Steele creek and Mcown Valley both had the gates locked so we went to Harbor Master as a last effort. We were able to launch at Harbor Master but the conditions were sketchy at best. By mid afternoon we were asked to leave and close the gate behind us because the corp. decided to close all access. I spoke to a guide as we were leaving and he said they only had access on private property and didn't have any other suggestions for us.
Sorry for the bummer news, I was pretty disappointed too. On the bright side though, we did get a few sandies, a striper, and a half day on the water.

Took me a few days to post this but here's a pic of Harbor Master on Friday (4/22/16). The lake was 14' over when I took this. It's 17' over now.
