Decided to go to Tawakoni this morning and brave the wind. Launched at the State Park around 7a and headed SE towards the dam. Checked a ledge in about 25-30 ft of water and saw some bait fish with some fish following on the graph. Stopped and pulled a 20 inch striper out on an a-rig. After the wind blew me off I turned the boat around and tried the same location again. The fish hit hard as usual and peeled off drag. I could feel he was a really good fish so just took it easy and tried to ease him in. Took about 5 minutes to get him to the boat and I never knew how big he was until I got him right up to the boat. Netting the thing by myself was the scariest part of the deal but it all worked out. According to my digital scale he is 20-0 lbs and has a length of 34-1/2 inches. Ended up catching about 15 this morning with a really good hybrid and another 26 in striper thrown in. All caught on the south end of a ledge by the dam on a-rigs. Some pics attached of the striper and hybrid.
On another note I see post all the time telling fisherman to hire a guide to teach them either certain lakes or techniques ect. I couldn't agree more; this April I booked a trip with Striper Exspress on Texoma as just that, a learning trip. We prob only fished and hour or so the whole trip. The rest of the time was spent on electronics, patterns ect. I can't tell you how much it has improved my striper fishing. So a shout out to all you guides who teach on the water. thx

Unbelievable fish. Was it released? Or is it being mounted?

To answer some questions. A-rig. Alabama Rig. Normally i use the trolling motor and move.them through the area and depth i want to fish. You can also troll them or cast. Lewisvillecatfishguide was at the ramp with some clients. Since i was alone i had one of his clients take the pic for me. I am going to have a replica made. Anyone have ideas on a good guy to do it. I have a guy in Minn but i dont want to have it shipped. North Texas are would be great
