I have fished eagle Mountain for more years than I like to admit. For the first time
for me I saw a bald eagle yesterday He was setting on the bank by windmill point. By the time I saw him he took off.
I followed him over to the Ft. Worth Boat club and he landed in a tree behind the club. Never could get
close enough to get a picture with my phone. Spending the summers in Montana see lotz of them.
Hey maybe when I can't find fish maybe start a bald eagle tour.

I see them all of the time at Fork and at Caddo. They are beautiful. I do not even see them as birds, just because of the sheer size and beauty. I grew up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California, so i know what you mean when you say when you see a lot of them. I sure do miss fly fishing for Golden trout and Brook Trout, and Cutthroat back home. Every once in a while i will bring my fly rod on the bass boat with a poppar fly tied on, a lot of fun to hook into a LM on a fly rod.

I see quite a bit of osprey at the lake but have only seen a bald eagle once on EM myself. I was duck hunting the north end about 4 years ago. They are beautiful! I see them pretty often at Bridgeport.

Start seeing them quite a bit this time of year, especially when all the leaves fall from the trees. Ray Roberts has a few as does Palestine, Texoma, Welsh and Fairfield. Watched one steal fish from a cormorant on Palestine last year. Eagle would wait until the cormorant came up with a fish in it's mouth and swoop down and steal it. Kind of wish the eagle would eat the cormorants!

I saw this one cruising the Red down below the Texoma dam a couple of weeks ago. Pretty cool. He set down about 60 yards from me so I quietly moved up (kayak) and took his picture before he went hunting again. The river is always thick with cranes and other water birds, but they scattered when that biggun came through!

Nice picture Hank. I'm going to have to start taking my camera with me to Eagle mountain and Bridgeport. Eagles on Eagle mountain, who woulda thunk it.
