Started out at day break and the wife and I caught surfacing Sand Bass at Sun Point in 5-10 fow for about an hour and a half before another boat showed. They were done about 9. They were up and down. Catch 3 or 4 and then chase them. Headed to several humps near the north end of the dam and found a few more. Lots of small Striper. Checked along the last ledge on the North end and saw two boats catching surfacing fish along the rocks. Scanned a little further out and found the Hybrid in 16 fow behind them. All 20"-23". Left those biting about 1:00 and headed back to Sun Point. A few boats there. We caught a 17" and a 16" Striper. Caught several Striper under 10". 2 big Yellow Bass. Left there and went and checked Cloud Point. Found a small school of Sand Bass there. Caught 5 or 6 in 12 fow and decided to head out. Before getting to the State Park we stopped by Finger Point. 2 big schools there. One on each side of the boat in 14 fow. Magnum Sand Bass and Big Hybrids. They never moved. Fished those for an hour and called it quits about 3:30. Had to chase fish around as they moved a lot other than Finger Point, but caught fish all day. Everything came on Fle Fly minnows bent almost in half. Wife fished a Chartreuse and I used White. She killed me on the big fish. Her wrists were sore at days end. The bonus today was my first time to catch a Sand Bass, Hybrid, Striper, and a Yellow Bass all in one day. Two trips to Tawaokoni this year and lots of fish.

Awesome day for sure and a good report. Some day I will stop being lazy and go further East to those lakes and see how I do. Nice job to the two of you.

Great REPORT centex!

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Well that is just fantastic! We went Saturday and it was a struggle all day. Not an impressive day for us. I was trying to put my wife and son on fish and it didn't work out that way. I guess we were a day early. Glad you had a great day. Thank you for the report.

Tawakoni has really been good lately, hope to get my boat back today to hit it again Wed AM. We have not had a bad trip in a very long time.

It was a blast. Surfacing fish in many areas. Up and down. Kept the side scan run out to about 150. Just kept a steady eye on it. Just kept saying left or right to the wife and short, medium, or long for casting. They would move through quick and knowing which side and how far means everything to make a quick cast. I love my local lakes, but Tawakoni has been great in two trips. Looking forward to a late fall trip and some dead sticking.
