I got to go out for a while today. I caught 14 channel cat, 2 to 5 lbs. and 1 yellow cat 4 lbs. this morning. Couldn't get a hybrid or sand bass to take a shad. Finally broke out the Ronrig Transformer and trolled a while. Caught a couple of doubles and several single hybrids. 8 total. The fish were scattered in 23 to 26 fow. Shad are getting up to 4" now. Lots of them. Water temp was 79.5 in the am. 82.5 in afternoon. The water has about 2.5 ft. of visibility. It has cleared some since last week. Water level is down about 3 ft. or so and dropping. I am so looking forward to cooler weather.

Very slow day. I never got into a group of any kind of fish besides gar. They were surfacing everywhere. I think small catfish were biting my shad in half, we pulled up several half eaten shad after a good bite. We trolled around some and got very little action on our Ron Rig. Baitfish were everywhere we went it seemed.
