I will be hitting Lake Whitney Friday thru Saturday for striper. Where do the guides and locals catch gizzard shad or perch for bait? What areas of the lake are best for striper right now? What depth of water? What depth are the fish feeding at? Are allot of whites being caught as well?
Thanks!

I never have tried to catch bait at Whitney, but i noticed alot of bait on the graph as we left from Harbor Masters Thursday. As for whites, Kathy and I caught 22 keepers between 8 and 12 on RSR slabs. Be careful, lots of undersized stripers mixed in with them.

Try the around boat docks especially under the lights at Uncle Gus Marina.

Found shad in the back of the creek on Saturday, also a lot of baby gar. Slow day of fishing though, 4 sandbass and 3 drum.
Lift strong, and prosper.
