Perch? I've been thinking about using perch.... I can catch tons of those and then not have to catch shad. One time I caught 12 dozen in an hour lol about 3 inches long...

Yes sir, stripers love 'em! Especially when they are 3-4" long. . .

For me perch work really good early summer. Many days better than shad. When you get into mid July and August seems like I always do better with shad. One really good thing about perch is they are easy to keep alive.

Caught my biggest ever striper (20#s) on a big ole perch on Whitney. They work great

Perch work really well year round. Trim the back fin for better hook ups.

Pretty much. They are all about the same. I'm surr that more than one species of perch swims into my trap. Here in the south most all the sunfish are referred to as perch. I know that up north it's a completely different fish.
