After all these years fishing, I have learned you can not depend upon the fish biting every day. Saturday I tagged along with my friend Joe in his boat. We pulled up on one of the popular areas on the lake and the fish were there. We landed one white after the other until we were bored. We decided to scout around and find another school. Well we scouted and scouted and never found any more fish except this one hybrid Joe landed, (picture below). My confidence was up for the guide trip for Sunday. We fished hard Sunday and I am still worn out. We did manage 32 keepers and a few unders, but it was tough fishing. Caught them all where they were stacked up on Saturday. The graph would be blank and then a small school would swim under the boat and we would catch a couple before they disappeared. So I think you are better off on a slow day not to run all over the lake. Just be patient and fish one spot when they seem to be there. They were in 19 feet of water and preferred small slab spoons moved slowly.

Sunday I saw my first zebra mussel on LL. We pulled up a small tree branch off the bottom and there they were. They were very small, about the size of half a grain of rice. So it has started.
