When Capt Larry Lawley sent me a message saying the bite was back "on" a couple of days ago, and I saw the forecast was for the beginnings of a cold front, Jos and I jumped at the chance to chase sandies again with Lar and Marilyn!

What a great morning of almost non-stop action! Most were 7-9.9", but did take home plenty for another couple of meals for the family.

We knew the fish were hungry, when the day began with this tiny yellow bass attacking a bait only a bit smaller than himself!

Caught "billions" of yellows and whites under 10", but found plenty of nice fat keepers, as well...

The Capt kept us on fish pretty much all morning, and by the time the wind came up, we had had our fill of action, so headed in for an early lunch... and a little nap. Thanks, Lar, for another terrific morning on Lavon!

I've been 99.9% catch and release for a few decades, but I met someone who changed things a lot...

...and damn can she cook those tasty lil' fillets! grin

Dream come true... find a lady who enjoys fishing as much as you do... and once you do, DON'T LET HER GO!!!

Looks like you caught your PB and a keeper, for sure! Congrats to both of you for finding each other! thumb And welcome to the club! My better half sure can cook and like to fish, my only complaint is sometime she wants to out fish me... sarcastic (just in case she reads the forum, I'm just kiddin' honey!) rolfmao

The pursuit (where are the fish), rigs design and setup, scouting, the awesome feeling of casting your rigs 100+ yards out, the total focus on the fish and the elements, the outdoors... the total exhaustion at the end of your fishing day,... the cooler full of fish to bring home... Yeah, I'm going to miss bank fishing!

Saw the Captain puttin' in, it sure was nice out there without all of the traffic, looks like you got a keeper or two!

We found them again today in the rain. We had 51 huge ones today and put a thousand back with sore lips.

Dontcha just love fishin' in the rain, Lar! One of my fondest memories was at a small lake at the top of Crooked Creek Pass in Colorado. Weather was terrific in the morning fishing Sylvan Lake, but when we drove toward the pass, dark clouds were moving in. All but one of my buddies stayed in the car, while I put on waders and rain gear, then made my way to the far side of the lake which was dimpled with rising trout... They turned out to be damn nice brookies!

If anybody's interested, the fourth slideshow down on Colorado's Ultimate Fishing Guide kinda tells the story... and makes me really miss those August days in the highcountry hovering in the 50's and 60's... grin
