I went out to Joe Pool this morning for a couple of hours. I caught 5 small crappie and one bass that probably went 3 pounds. There were no sunfish.
The bite was slow before the front and even slower afterwords.
Catching a bass that size on my Bass Pro Microlite rod was a chore. Those rods are tough but they bend double on anything bigger than a sunfish.They are outstanding for sunfish. I have two of them paired with fifty year old Compact RF-70 reels.

I have a 3 day weekend coming. Fri is supposed to be good weather but it is going to rain on Sat. So I'll at least get out Fri. not sure if I'm going to hit Lake Athens for sunfish or go to Tyler where they are supposed to stock channel cats. Maybe I'll just do both!
