Figured I would post here since most are ultralight Tackle fans. I paired my new G-Rods 69XUL pro trout rod with the new Shimano Ci4 1000 spooled with 3lbs test. Hit the river to see about some ultralight white bass action. Struck out for a while until I used the old trusty mepps spinner. Caught 5 in a row and lost a few. Great fun and ripped some drag on the new ultralight.

G-rods.com Check them out! I inquired about their high end pro trout series after finding out about them in the Bass section. Received a phone call from the owner and CEO Glenn Miller two days later. We spoke like old friends about our love for all things fishing as well as his rod series. Glenn found out I would be in DFW over Thanksgiving and offered to meet me at Bass Pro to show me his rods. I met Glenn and he brought every rod in his line up to show me!!!! Awesome guy who stands by his product. All of his rods are immaculate regardless of price point. Truly JDM quality stuff. Needless to say I left with the 69XUL pro trout model before I left! That particular model has a nice soft solid carbon tip for bite detection. Very sensitive and just a fun rod!! His tech is new to the scene with the way they infuse graphene with carbon. I highly recommend G-Rods.

I'll have to take your word for it. I rarely use brand new tech when it comes out. I like to get a second or third generation and let them work the bugs out. And there's not really an opening level on the rods that I saw on the website. I tend to like to try the lower level rods from a company before I spend that much $$$. Hope it works out for you!

I saw this rod when fishwfly and I met recently at the Texas Fresh Water Fisheries for me to pick up another rod. The G-rod's workmanship is off the charts, very high end looking.
So, I have done a little research on the graphene these rods employ and it looks like yet another step toward moving lighter, yet stronger at the same time.
And, where most of the rods are top dollar, I note that the company is putting out a selection of its rods with the same graphene material but just outfitted with cheaper components. One of the basic rods might be a good way for someone to put a toe in the water, so to speak, to see if they like the "feel" and check on the actual performance in real-time applications, say like a 7 pound LMB giving the rod a big fight.
Finally, Tackle Tour does some reviews as most of you know of all things fishing and it seems smitten with these rods and will be doing some reviews owing to the sudden popularity of G-Rods and a few others employing graphene.
Pretty cool; I love progress!
