My parents are in from out of town and brought their boat down with them. They have spent 2 days on Canyon with almost nothing to show for it. I mentioned that the bluegill fishing was suppose to be pretty good on Dunlap but I have never been on the lake. I have read a few reports that mention using worms around trees with the recent mayfly hatch. My question is how is the flow rate at the 35 ramp? How is the ramp itself we will be putting in a 19ft. center console is it doable? Does anybody have any pointers on where or how to find them? Thanks for all the help and if we do make it out there I will post a report tomorrow.

The 35 flow by the ramp is strong but manageable. The wake boat ski boat traffic is heavy this time of year. Best times to fish Dunlap is from sun up till 10am. Docks with 10 to 12 feet of water are holding nice fish. Also over hanging tree limbs around water 8 to 12 feet deep. Look for brush piles in this same depth. Fish are holding close to the bottom. Side Note: I fish for bass but friends of mine who fish for Bluegill are catching them at the above places.

Plus #1 on the above. You might also look for ledges in that same depth.Live worms work best for me. The side of the lake closest to IH 35 is the best area. Work from mid lake back to IH35.

Sorry for the late report it has been a crazy week. We did fish Dunlap on Thursday 7/7. fished between 7-1 and did pretty well. caught lots of small fish and 7 that were big enough to fillet. the bigger fish came out of a few isolated areas around the islands about mid-lake.
