This is getting to be a habit, cooking bluegills about one time every week or ten days that is. Had corn on cob and asparagus that needed to be cooked. Spouse did the veggies on the gas grill while I fried the fish, a mixture of some whole and some fillets..

Thanks for the replies. I always say bluegills give me the total fishing experience of fishing, catching, cleaning, cooking, and eating. Unlike bass fishing, no one frowns on me for keeping panfish. I have a little Native American in my DNA from the 1700s, i.e. an ancestor that hunted and fished for food.

One other thing, what type of fish fry mix did you use?

Crope1, I like both of these mixes. If you like them crisp, with a little crunch, add about a half cup of Panko Japanese style bread crumbs to the mix. I also added about half of a cup of grated Parmesan cheese this time, just to check out the flavor. After I salt and pepper the fillets, I dredge them in flour, then dip them in egg wash, then in the fish fry mix, before dropping them into the hot greas in the deep fryer,
