What is better than catching a double limit of Rainbow Trout? Breakfast at Granny D's and catching some Redear. Myself and Mike "USMC-GY" got us a double limit of Trout fishing the Guadalupe River. We then headed to our favorite breakfast place in Canyon City. Granny D's! After a GREAT breakfast we hit Lake Mcqueeney on the way home and picked up a couple of nice Redear and some Bluegill and Longear. The Trout were caught holding at the edges of currents.Berkley Power Worms orange in color,Gulp Trout bait yellow in color, and Berkley orange colored trout bait were used. Bottom techniques were used. The sunfish were caught holding in shallow water 3 to 5 feet deep. Worms were used with both bottom and drop shot techniques being used. One Redear was kept for the dinner table. A double limit of Rainbows,Redear, and breakfast at Granny D's. It just don't get any better! fish

Great wintertime combo for sure! Have only been trout fishing three times including last Friday at the Trail Race. Limited out. Also having trouble locating any sunfish. I usually pickup several nice Bluegill at the Crappie holes but so far nothing. You having any luck on the sunfish?

Side Note: Selma Acadamey has no good Trout baits. Found the cheese colored Berkley Trout Bait at the the 3009 Walmart.

Thanks Curtis for the reply! I am also not finding the Sunfish. hide2 Picked up a couple small Bluegill on a a local creek last week and had to work hard to catch those. bang Spring should be super good as along as the flood waters stay away. hmmm As for the fishing supplies Acadamey(Selma) has not had the good trout baits for awhile. taz They even did not have any size 10 hooks either. hammer Seems Walmart is coming through more and more! clap

Finding lots of Crappie! Also light tackle has been a little hard to find. Acadamey seems to be sold out of just about every thing on the days that I am there. I did manage to find some size six eagle claw hooks at the Super Walmart on Walzem Road!. They also had plenty of split shots.
