Always watch the forum and we went for panfish the other day on the Great Lakes in Canada. Ended up having a first to 5 competition. In a few weeks we will be sight fishing big blue gill in 1-3 feet of water through the ice and i will post some videos!

Ice fishing for yellow perch is definitely on my bucket list, but hopefully a little larger than those.

The perch in the lower half of the state tend to be smaller when ice fishing. Smithaven, if you go up north in Michigan on the larger lakes in the lower peninsula or venture into the upper peninsula, you can catch some very large perch (1.5 lbs) through the ice.
