Got out to good ol Conroe this morning for a few hours. Fished the first spot from about 6-8am with a dropshotted Eagle Claw Trout Crawler and only caught 1 fish. From there I went to a different spot and picked up some mealworms along the way and I guess they only wanted live bait today because I caught a bunch on dropshotted mealworms at that spot. Fished maybe 2 hours there then did a little hiking with the dog in the Sam Houston National Forest on a multi-use trail originating from the Kelly's Pond Campground. Definitely a nice way to spend a morning.

Also, is there a trick to keeping mealworms alive? They all seemed to die after an hour or so.

Very nice Peyton! Some nice Shells, beautiful sunrise, and some outdoor time spent with your dog.

Just about a perfect Saturday morning IMO thumb

Get yourself a Frabil Crawler Can, boss. Best thing for a live bait bream fisherman on foot. Glad you found them! fish

Nice sized fish! thumb

I carry one of those small soft sided lunch coolers with the removable plastic insert.
It's small with a carry strap, and will hold a couple drinks and ice, and has a lot of zipper pockets that I carry a really small plastic tackle box in the front pocket with hooks and weights, with the corks, plus my needle nose pliers in the other separate pockets.
Place the box of bait on top of the ice and they are happy!
