Just wondering how the pan fishing is on Decker. My wife and I did well on Lake Austin until the Grass Carp destroyed all the vegetation. Need to catch a mess for a nice fish dinner or two.
Thank you,

I have fished Decker several times. Right now the fish should be in 5 to 12 feet of water and possibly be spawning. I did good fishing the reed beds and structure. It's been over a year since I fished there. There are a lot of nice Bluegill in that lake. Side Note: It's a shame what happened to Lake Austin. I guess fishing is not an important item for that lake.

Fished Decker only twice and both times did good fishing by the reed beds. This was during July and August.

My wife and I fished the shoreline near the reeds. I guess that is what you folks refer to the reed beds? fished from 8 am till 1pm. Fishing was slow and ended up with 11 bluegills/sunfish. Also a 18 inch green bass that was fun on the ultra light pole. Talked to a gentleman that fishes Decker very often and he thought the east wind had killed the fishing. He was fishing for Whites and Hybrids and caught nothing. I will try again on Thursday. Need to get a good mess of the Bluegills. I do think the spawn has mostly finished, but I am hoping that I am wrong. Thanks for the pointers.....

You are correct about the reeds. There are several patches of em on that lake. I was fishing by boat each time. We picked up fish around all the reeds we fished at.
