I intended to get the tube on Lake Athens this morning. But I woke up to wind, rain and 41 degrees. I voted no! Y'all can call me a wimp if you want to.  Looks like I''ll spend the day helping the wife with a homework assignment she has for a college class.

You made the right call Flags! Only in Texas it can be mid 80's one day and the next low 40's with a strong north wind.  Weather is supposed to improve. Looks like next week will be a good one!

Weather is supposed to improve. Looks like next week will be a good one! Next weekend I have to take 35 of my NJROTC Cadets on a leadership camp out. We will spend 2 days at Sky ranch in Van, TX. Good thing about it is the place has a 90 acre lake full of crappie, catfish and bass. They let me keep fish so I can show the kids how to clean and prepare them for the table and then we cook them up. Most of my cadets are city kids so they know nothing about it. No fishing license required there so I take 5 or 6 rods and show them how to fish too. So at least I'll get to wet a line next week but I have to leave the float tube at home.
