Had the chance to fish with Clayton aka The Wildman of the navidad the other day. We fished some ponds and creeks located deep in the Texas Hill Country! The bite was "ON FIRE"! We fished from 9am till 3pm and caught well over 50 nice fish. Bluegill,Hybrids,Longear, and a nice Channel Cat were caught. The creek and ponds were is great shape and should really be in SUPER GREAT shape after this latest rain. Fish are also in full spawn. Fish were holding close to grass beds and ledges. Worms and Gulp Alive Worms were the baits used. We kept about 25 fish for the frying pan and the catfish which was caught on the Gulp Alive Worms was released. A GREAT day of fishing with the Wildman of the navidad ! It just don't get any better. fish

Nice catch! You'll probably get a couple of po'boys out of that catfish. How big was it?

Thanks Gitter for the reply! cheers I think some of the ponds were stocked with Bluegill. Most of the fish I think have come in by flooding rivers and creeks. hmmm

Side Note: One thing you can say about fishing those secluded ponds. You never know what's in them!
