With the high water on us and trout season right around the corner has anyone heard if the river will be stocked?

The stocking schedule should be coming out any day. Usually Mid November. As for the Guadalupe River if Canyon is still letting out a lot of water I would not think Parks&Wildlife would stock the trail race. The current would be way to strong. Mt. Breeze and Hyco Springs I would think would still be stocked. Just my t opinion. hmmm

Banker, I was thinking the same thing but the current at the 1st crossing seems to swift right now as well. Oh well fingers crossed for good winter fishing.

They should be turning down the flow here in the next few days. The issue for trout is the water temperature. The giant flows to get the lake down from the Memorial day flood let all the cold water out of the bottom of lake. The water is 10 higher than normal, right at the limit to what trout can survive. Add the stress of being transported and released it means the stocking will likely be delayed till the water cools down. Hopefully this cool front brings the temps down.

There is a cold front that will arrive here Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Temperatures will get to the 40's. If the water conditions will get right it should be a good season. Forecast says a cold/wet winter.
