Hey all- I'm heading down to the Wimberley area this weekend and will be getting out to do a little fishing on Friday and maybe Saturday. I've never fished the Blanco and I would appreciate any advice to get on some 'gills!

I'll have a fly rod and might bring some ultralight spinning gear because I'll be on the bank. How's the river after the flood? Are there river access points at the public road crossings? Any other feeder creeks we should try out? Like Cypress Creek?

Or actually if not the Blanco then where should we go? We're staying at a house about 15 minutes northeast of town.

Right now both the Blanco River and the Blanco and Wimberley areas are not bank fish able at this time. bang The Blanco State Park is closed until either October or November. nuts The Cypress Creek in Wimberley is still a mess and is still being cleaned up due the the past major flooding that had occurred. taz I would suggest to fish the Marble Falls area around Johnson Park and Lake Marble Falls. You might also check out the Perdernales River in the Stone Wall area. hmmm Good luck. thumb

San Marcus is clearing up well. I kayaked the river last week around Lulling. The water was stained with a strong current. Caught some nice bass and some nice Redbreast. As for the banks some areas looked ok and others had a lot of down timber. Watch for snakes!
