I will probably use a Zebco 202 with nightcrawlers for bait. My questions are what size hook, weight, how deep to fish, how far off the bank, what type of cover or structure to fish around? Please help I'm hungry...LOL

I use the size six cricket hooks by Mustad. I Texas Rig a night crawler (usually a half) and bounce it off of the bottom. I usually cast by structure such as docks, brush piles, rocks, and overhanging tree limbs. Where ever I think there is going to be a BIG sunnie I will pitch a worm in that direction. As for a shot I use either a six or a five. Shot size depends on the type of water body and conditions that are evident. Most of the time I fish off of the bottom but there are certain times of the year you need a float. I use all ultra light tackle for Sunfish including six pound test line. Hope this helps you out some. Keep it simple and have fun.

I use 4 lb test line and a flyrod on the sunfish. I also use small spinner baits, grubs, and jigs.

Thanks Banker!! I have been wondering the tackle you are using...my grand daughter(6) would not have the patience to bass fish and the sunnies I have caught has always been floating down the Guadalupe on jigs fishing for trout or smallmouth.

You must have been fishing the Guadalupe between the Trail race and fourth crossing. For nice big Sunfish try the part between New Braunfles and Seguin.
