Thinking about getting into a 2012 Ram 2500. I am interested what kind of fuel milage those that have them are getting?

Not interested in any other vehicle. No need to post about ford, chevy, etc....

You forgot the most important part. Diesel or gas?

Bro in law has the 2012 diesel and it gets around 13-14mpg. Not very impressive, he liked his 5.9 more than this new 6.7.

I have a 07 2500. Once I took off the DPF/EGR, I get 17-21.

I've got a 2012 dodge 2500 diesel.. Had it since about April and have 9k miles on it..

Right now I'm getting 14-16 everyday stop and go driving in lots of hills to and from the lake..
On the hwy if careful I can get 16-19 going 70 mph

They say it'll get better as it gets broken in with more miles...if so great, if not, I still love the truck

I had a '10 6.7 cummins, great truck I loved it wish I still had it, but when the need for a big truck left so did the big truck.

Dont buy it with the intent of getting the mpg's referenced above, you wont unless you modify it.

I have an 08 with 110K miles and I consistently get 18 in the city. It does get better when it gets broke in, and I do believe a Cummins isn't broke in until it gets 100K on it.

I have an 06 with 60K on it, if you go 65 it will get 21 mpg *- 1/2 at 70 it drops to 17-18 mpg. Gets 16 mpg with any trailer I have ever hooked up to it at 65.

I have a customer who is a retired AF. He hotshots and has been buying a new Dodge every 4 or 6 years. His current truck is an 07 with the 6.7 and he says he is keeping it.
This truck does not look it but it has 428 thousand miles on it. He is on his way to New Orleans this evening. He did have the stuff done to improve mileage.

Be careful of the rear end ratio. I just got a 2012, 3500 with less than 2000 miles and it is doing remarkably well on mileage with a 3.72. I pulled a 32 ft fifth wheel about 400 miles and averaged 11.7. It looks to be getting about about 15.7 with local travel. Much better than my 2004 with a 4.10 rear end.

You would have a 6.7 litre Cummins I assume. My 08 6.7 4WD Mega Cab has gotten the best mileage ever after it got 100K miles on it. I have got as high as 18.8 on the Highway and it gets 14.5 pretty consistently pulling my BassCat Panter4 to Rayburn from Houston.
