Got my reservation and am wanting to catch a bunch of tilapia. Wife loves to eat them. Any tips on how to catch them? Anyone fish that lake?

I haven't been yet but would really like to make it out there sometime. Friend of mine went and said the best place to catch them is anywhere that is wet! Said he wore them out on nightcrawlers under a cork.

Will ask if he is at work tomorrow... the warmer the better for them though I think since they are invasives from Africa and the Middle East. They die if temperatures dip below about 50 degrees. Can also use corn for bait now that I think about it

Any lure will work if reeled slowly across their nest.

Cast net! They were thick in the creek. We couldnt get them to bite on roadrunner or roastertails. Worms I hear work well.

We filled a 100 qt cooler full of them Saturday.

Tied up to some trees about 20' off the bank and just used slip bobbers, split shot, and a #6 hook with worms.

Stayed in one spot and had action about every 30 seconds or better.

Biggest was about 5 lbs, but most were in the 12"-15" range
