This is just a warning to anyone thinging about buying Sonik carp rods. Back in 2007-2008 i bought a set and over the years they have been great. Well 9 months ago i figured i would buy another set of there newest line the SK4 XTR. i bought the 13ft 3.5tc rods. well at first they was great then right before the ATC i noticed i had a tip ring broken, well didnt think much about that and got a replacement tip from them. well another month goes buy and another tip ring breaks, well now im wondering if its something im doing or just bad luck. i get another replacment from them, and also buy a new holdall and tip protecters.

well just 2 months ago, i end up with another tip ring broken on one of the 2 rods that broke before. so this time i check all the rings, and notice that the 50mm but rings was cracked. so i contact my rep and i told him i want new rods seeing as i have had issues with these rods now and must be defect. well that didnt happen. although they did send me new rings, the quality of them looks like they was made with a grinder and a hammer. these ring came straight from the box, and when i seen this [censored], they went right back in the box. i do not believe these are supossed to look like this. some say they are made this way but if you are gonna buy a ring thats 100+ dollars, dont think they will look like this.

so beware of sonik sports rods. they are not the same quality and craftsmanship as back in 2007.

Do you have any reccomendations as to a new good carp hauling longcasting best bang carp rod ? I prefer braid if it matters.

well i currently have free spirits and there so much better then anything i have ever had. if you can afford them you wont be disappointed.
