Thinking about taking my two little girls crappie fishing this weekend on Lake Grapevine. I usually bass fish, but crappie fishing would be easier for them. Anyone have some ideas/pointers on where I should start on that lake for some crappie?

I fish it a fair amount. I just havent fished it much this spring. It has been tough. Best I can say is to find some brushpiles. Last time I was out there, I was catching some on brush in 12-18 feet.

Anyone have some ideas/pointers on where I should start on that lake for some crappie? Better chance to find a rich widower woman than get info on where to fish any lake in the area. Good luck to you and your girls.

i fish it about 6 days a week. your fish finder is your best friend .watch for brush piles in 12/20 feet.quite a few around the lake side of the island on the west side of the lake.

If I was taking 2 little girls, I would try for sandbass. Much easier as the crappie can be tough on gvine. Either the humps out in front of murrell or schooling around the lake.
