Try the search function. This has been discussed countless times.

Green Monster...4 foot...get a separate battery to throw in the boat, as you will need it. I mostly use LED strip lights (the really bright ones) for occasional night use, when I happen to be on the water and dont want to leave a hot bite...but if I am serious, I dust off the green monster and charge up a good spare battery...

Appreciate the input. You have a good key word to search for good results on this subject? Ive used the search engine countless times on many different topics with mixed results.

I prefer to use 5630 led strip lights. reasons:they are cheap, easy to install,
They are always on the boat, they wont drain your battery and most importantly they attract fish

That is what I use on the boat...I was just struggling to remember the number of the lights...I like them, although they are not too durable in a stumpy lake, though they are cheap...and the reasons you describe is exactly why they are on the boat...
