Now as far as the jig & cork action goes.....almost nonexistent for us this year
And now the areas I normally catch them under a cork is chocked out with coon tail moss
Ok let's start with:
4-10-18Belinda & I slipped out for a little afternoon action.
Graphed an area and located some possible spots.
I dropped in the 1st spot,
THUMPBroke my leader at the jig on the hookset, then NADA
2nd spot.......
NADA3rd spot.....stumps and laydowns on the dam of an old pond.
IT WAS ON! It was fast & furious Lake Fork Style
When the action slowed, we had 18 in the livewell with 2 over 2#
My back was still hurting from the Crappie Masters tourney, so we quit with only 2 1/2 hours on the water
Hickory Nut arrived at his camp Friday the 13th, but due to winds we didn't get out till Monday.
There's a path worn out in the grass in front of his RV where he paced back & forth while waiting
4-16-18We stared the day out with a light N wind, but the forecast had it changing to S during the day.
Started on the pond dam and instantly started catching fish
They weren't the same quality as before, but still good fish
Moved to a bp that I had marked while Belinda & I was out and got some serious THUMPS!
While we were fishing the bp, looked up and a 16" 8 lug dodge rim came floating by.
We retrieved it so it would not damage anyone's boat
When the wind shifted, the bites were hard to come by
Ended the day with 28 and I had caught a 2.55, 2.29 & a 2.09
It was the best big fish day I'd ever had on Fork
4-18-18HN & I went to Mama B's for breakfast, then launched again.
wasted almost all morning in Birch looking for fish, then headed back to the Honey Hole and a couple of others.
Although we didn't land anything over 2#'s, notice I said "LAND"....
HN had a BIG girl to the surface, but she pulled off, we were catching quality fish
Ended the day with 40 more
All the girlie fish had swollen bellies full of eggs, so the spawn is far from over.
Log jams, laydowns, stumps and bp's in 8-9 fow are where it's at right now.
The upright pedestal on my double seat broke yesterday, but I took it and had it welded up this morning.
HN said he was gong back home today, but I sent him a text saying the boat seat was fixed and forecast is calling for 8-13 mph winds tomorrow???????????
