Had the pleasure today of having Scott and his son Braden out again chasing some crappie. The weather man never said it was gonna be as cold as it was and it just didn�t want it warm up today. We pushed off the dock and temp was 25. When we pulled back in it was 35. The bite was light and the fish just weren�t that aggressive today. We did have a little better early bite and had a lot of small fish biting as well. They stuck with it today and ended up with 35 nice crappie, 10 sand bass and 1 blue cat. They had a great time and caught a lot of crappie. All fish caught on jigs and color didn�t seem to matter that much. Fish were caught in water 18-38 ft deep and fish were suspended 16-28 ft mostly. Deepest fish caught today was at 33ft. Water temps today had made it up to 47 but after this cold blast it may drop back down again. Bait seemed to be pushed back in to the deep holes today and that could have been the reason for the slower than usual bite we saw.
