Long time consumer, first time posting it seems...

I'm planning on fishing Granger Lake over the next few days on my kayak (Hobie PA14) and need some lake pointers.
I'd like to give the crappie and whites a work out, but I've not fished this lake before. I've fished the San Gabriel during the white bass run, but never the lake proper.

Where is a good place to launch from?
I know there are brush piles throughout the lake, and even some super-secret ones that are not to be named.

Other than the obvious jigs and minnows, what other pointers can ya'll provide that will make this trip fun and productive?

I'll also have some LMB tackle with me just in case I get the urge... <grin>

Put in at Wilson Fox boat ramp, try the shore either left or right of the ramp. To the left try all the way to the point, right north of fishing dock all the way to dam.

Launch at Taylor park. There is a submerged hump at N30.68603� W97.36725� at 19 feet. Try this for white bass, bump a slab or little George along the bottom. Due west of this about 200 yards there is some drowned timber in 13 ft of water. Try the timber for crappie, fishing one foot off the bottom with jigs or minnows. The crappie are finicky, they are not evenly distributed in the timber, there will be one tree that holds 6, and the next holds none. In a kayak, it will be easy to cover a lot of trees.

Sorry, used old data. the hump is at N30.68024 -97.36797 it is 16 ft. and the trees are 700 yards due east of the hump.
