Headed to Lavon yesterday morning fishing timber and brush from 15-20 feet. Every place we fished, caught 6"-8" dinks like crazy. Easily caught close to 100 fish and only had 11 in the cooler by about 2:30. Dominant color was white/chartreuse, but Bobby Garland bluegrass worked really good too. BFOTD was 1.63 and had another about 1.25, but the rest were barely over 10"

Last year we caught hundreds of 4" fish, this year looks to be the year of the 8" fish, next year, it should be GOOD!!!

I agree, I was out there on Saturday and experienced the same thing. It was @ 15-1 small to keeper and only a couple that were good sized.

Same thing for me yesterday at Lavon. It was about 20 to 1 for me.

Same for me on Lavon yesterday. But started out the morning fishing for cats at the dam and did okay. Moved to the railroad bridge and got dinks but no keepers. At least the action was fun.

Bardwell is the same. Bunches of 9.5" fish. Next year ought to be awesome!

Same on LL, they were HUGE during pre-spawn and Spawn at the slips, but now ALL dinks!!!! I think this is good and bad... good to see the lake restocking itself for future years like it was 4-5 years ago, bad because I'm hungry !! Need more keepers in the freezer!!

Not to worry, there's still lots of big ones there. We are just not fishing in the right places and are still in recovery from spawning stress.

According to some biologists the spawners don't feed much for awhile after spawning. Mother natures way to protect the babies from being eaten by their parents.

I went back out on Tuesday and same story. A lot of 8-9" fish but I had the lake to myself just about. I scanned some new brush piles and caught fish on every one. I also landed a 6-7lb LMB on my 6lb line.

It has slowed down on the keepers for sure, but still enjoy catching a lot of fish even if they're small. Any day on the water is a good day thumb

Exactly! Now the last few times I've been out, I catch about a dozen or more in a few hours, with maybe 1-2 keeps. May need to start fishing deeper, but that means more hang ups and lost jigs. I hear ya on the meat.

Time to keep bringing the Stubby's catfish bait on my trips out.

I'm headed to Lewisville in the morning. I'm still learning how to use and dial in my electronics so hopefully we find them. I was hoping to get some meat but I'll settle for catching some fish.

Like Ernest said this is normal. It will get better soon. The one thing I have noticed is the better fish seem to bite last if your on brush piles. Get the dinks out of the way and can usually catch a few good fish. Just have to cover lots of water and weed through the small ones.
