Bite after bite and still doesn't get old. We are a little behind here and we have been busy and my wife has been up in wisconsin for a week. Once again the crappie bite is still hot! We have been catching numbers of good fish 8-16 foot deep on brush or any structure you can find. We have been using some minnows and starting to use more jigs for bait. Bait we are using Todd Box Thermocline Lures Mr Fry Lime Glo-Treuse /UV and Citric Acid Bobby & Rita: This couple was a tough couple we battled 20+ mph winds. They roughed it out and ended the day with 35 crappie! Rusty and David: 25+ mph winds so we moved to a little east texas lake. caught tons of fish had 32 keepers! Kelly and Kaitlyn: These two drove down from victoria these two are avid crappie fisherman. This girl put a beating on the big fish, she had the 6 biggest fish of the day. ended the day with a two man limit, 50 crappie! Butch Randy and Jordan: We had work for them today but we ended the day with 75! Scott and sons Jody and Pake: great day with these guys. shared our faith. good down to earth fellowship. Ended with a blessed day of 75 crappie! Had a cancellation so I had a buddy kelly to do some fun fishing and some scouting. Ended the day with 50 crappie! Rodney and Tiny: These guys drove from murvaul and are avid crappie fisherman. They put a whooping on them caught 50 crappie in less than three hours. Stan and Russel: these guys were on a fishing adventure. they were at reelfoot, tennessee stopped and fished with me on palestine the. off to lake fork tomorrow. they ended the day with 50 crappie! Guys nows the time to stock your freezer or have a family fish fry. Thank you to everyone that's fished with me this week. Meet a lot of great people. Looking to get on some action give me a call. The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

Good lord, between you and Jerry, I don't stand a chance.
I say catch um all, I keep trying but can't put a dent in the population. It is great seeing that you keep your clients on fish.
God bless you buddy and keep on catching.

My daughter Kaitlynn and I were fortunate to get a date to fish with Mark on short notice. When he posted on Wednesday that he had an opening on Saturday I contacted him on Thursday morning and the spot was still available. I called my daughter and asked if she was interested in going. She responded with a resounding "Yes Daddy". I knew that with summer school and work she wouldn't be able to make many trips home this summer. So I figured this would be a great opportunity to spend a little time together. I called Mark back and put the wheels in motion. I took off Friday and met Kaitlynn in Gatesville at her maternal grandparents. I had been in contact with Mark and he was very concerned with the projected winds so he went scouting on another lake that he felt we could fish if the winds were high. As we got closer to where we were going to stay he called and said that he had found fish but they weren't hungry and that the winds were predicted to be manageable on Palestine. So, Kaitlynn and I re-routed our course and stayed closer to Palestine. But, not without me making at stop at Thermocline Lures to lighten my wallet. It was nice meeting tboxfish and hickory nut. We finally got settled in and hit the sack for our trip in the morning. We met Mark the next morning and the winds were favorable. Our first stop yielded a good mess of fish and Kaitlynn was on fire. During our catching we mentioned that Kaitlynn was somehow allergic to crappie. Mark had this look on his face of "Like what?". We informed him that when she gets hit by the dorsal fin of a crappie she starts to whelp up (it's the darndest thing). Shortly after that a mishandled fish caught Kaitlynn in the leg and sure enough here came the whelp. We assured Mark that it would be fine but we could tell he was concerned. We continued to catch fish, reaching 43 by 11:00. We scratched out the last 7 by 12:30 and were headed back to the ramp. After getting fish cleaned and a bite to eat we hit the road headed home by 2:00. After dropping Kaitlynn off I headed back to Victoria and made it back by 10:00. Sure was a lot of driving. But, DANG it was sure worth it to spend time with my daughter doing one of our favorite things together, catching crappie. I asked her if she would be willing to do it again and she said "I think we need to take a guided trip a couple times a year." Dads, just be fore warned that Mark will play dirty with the trolling motor. We needed one fish to fill our 2 limits and Kaitlynn had broken off. Mark conveniently let the boat drift off the structure to retie. As soon as, Kaitlynn dropped down our last fish was hooked and in the box. I didn't stand a chance. As if I needed to be insulted anymore. I had just got my butt kicked by my 20 year old daughter all morning. I did make a great "deckhand" for the trip. I have fished on quite a few saltwater guide trips and I can say that without a doubt this was the most memorable trip I have had. And, Mark went far and beyond to make sure that we caught fish and have a great time. Thank You, Mark Kelly and Kaitlynn Edwards >E squared

Way to go Kelly. Enjoyed visiting with you last week. I keep telling people that I have heard crappie will get stunted if they get too over populated in a lake. I am doing all I can to keep that from happening
