On Ray Roberts, or other lakes, how far from shore are the COE brushpiles? I have seen the placements dots on the map, but would like to know how far, in general, are they from the shore? I am newly retired and have my first boat and small motor, and will be searching for these piles soon(whenever my new 5hp motor comes in). I will be putting in at Pond Creekon a normal basis at RR, and at Pilot Knoll on LL. Your input is appreciated

Some are very close to the bank. Many piles are in the 20-30 ft break line of the lake. Lots of piles are very close to boat ramps and timber. If you are launching at Pilot Knoll just head up Hickory Creek. Checked out Pecan Creek Saturday and did find crappie on timber in 5-10ft range. Caught a few sandies and ditch pickles as well.
