Decided to brave the winds today. My buddy Epic had the same idea. Both showed up within 10 minutes of each other, and hadn't discussed it prior. I ended up with 7. If I remember right, he had 17. Tough day to tube. I really think there were 30 mph gusts.

Your estimate of the gusts was right on. Website below gives the past hourly weather conditions at DFW for the past 3 days. Wind gusted to 32 MPH at 9:53 this morning and was close to that for the rest of the day. My hat's off to you for hanging in there.

If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life,
there'd be a shortage of fishing poles

It was definitely the most windy day I have ever attempted to fish. It was brutal at times. Just hug as close as you can to the pylons and hope for a thump.

It was a beating out there. Sometimes that's the price you pay to follow your passion. That's the first time I've been tubing when the water was white capping.

I still think the worst part was when a wave slammed the back of my tube and that chilly water splashed up on your back. It keeps you alert better than coffee.

That is no joke. The wet shirt with 30 mph winds will make you a little chilly.
