Been having a few split trips of crappie and cats. Had one Sunday morning 8/21. Bluebird day, north east winds. Did pretty good. Fished a couple hours for crappie and couple hours for blue cat. Crappie were deep in the piles but finally turned on a bit. Of course, they liked the blk/chartruse jig, but liked minnows better. Lots of small ones again. Kept a mixed bag of 16 crappie and 18 blue cat and had lots of fun.

Top: Lee and Charlie wanted to go fishing once more before school starts. They had a big day!

Bottom: Thursday before the rain storm, Grayson, his dad Jamison and two buddies caught crappie and blue cats to fill the cooler before going back to school this week.

We fished for crappie in the rain Thursday morning. The bite was steady. We fished several brushpiles. The fish were 12-20ft deep. The best jig color was good ol blk/chartruse jigged straight down. No bite on the fall. Jon and Hayden were kicking my butt on minnows. We fished for crappie till 11am and managed 21 nice keepers. We also netted 3 or 4 good blue cat and broke off a couple on the crappie rigs. J!!on and Hayday stayed very busy all day!!
We then went drifted for the blue cat and got a good mess to complete Jon's family Labor Day fish fry. Was a good day considering the rain and a little thunder. I like fishing on these days.

Caught some crappie on a few brushpiles in the pontoon boat Labor Day. Had to fight off the blue cat and largemouth using minnows. But had lots of fun doing it. Had four girls. They broke off couple of times on big fish. Blue cats or big bass. Crappie were from 10' to 25' just all over the screen. The crowds got pretty bad after lunch and we came in. But was a nice day.
Have openings this week. The upcoming weekend is booked. Will do crappie trip for two in bass boat for $200. Everything furnished and fished cleaned. Give me a call. 903-8185-4631

Thanks. Ray Roberts sure looks good this year. Water is clear. Fish are biting everywhere. On Monday, Labor Day, I could see people catching crappie, catfish and sandbass. Tons of baitfish. Going to be a great fall. Last autumn was the best in many years and then we had another flood and the boat ramps closed right at Thanksgiving. Lets hope we don't have that again this year.
