My son's 13th birthday this month, we are going to rent a house on either lake. Never fished any lake north of Waco. Will have 8 in our group taking the boat as well, just wanted some insight for crappie and might do some catfishing as well which is a better lake. Want to make sure he and his friends have a good time and we get a lot of pictures with smiling faces.

God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:28

If your fishing for both crappie and catfish. I would hit cedar creek. Lot of black crappie and big blue cat. Fork has a very small population of blue cat but a lot of channel cat. If you are wanting big crappie and not so much numbers I would hit fork. Very healthy population of larger crappie just won't catch as many as cedar creek in my opinion. Good luck should be a very memorable trip!!
