Well, after reading for the last several weeks all the posts of great crappie trips on Palestine, I was itching to finally get on the water this morning. Didn't ask for advice, wanted to work to find em on my own.

Searched for brush in 15-ish FOW, and found two big piles. First brush I've ever found on the lake. Was pumped. No takers. Tried slab bandits and some tnt jigs. No dice. Not a bite. Not a sniff. Fished a good chunk of the Flat Creek bridge, in all depths. No dice.

Wanted to fish the big bridge but the wind would not allow.

Not asking for advice or pity, just wanted to post this failure as part of the journey. I know more today than I did yesterday! And I didn't break anything on the boat, that's always a plus.

Happens to the best of us! I have t been out in a few weeks since my boat is down but I would suggest looking in 17-20 FOW for brush and timber but like I said I can't 100% say for sure. I'm sure there will be others come along that can help more. Good luck cheers

See I was thinking the same thing. But my graph was showing what looked like the thermocline at around 17 feet and it kept me from that depth.

Ah. That makes sense.

Thanks for the report CoachCBA. Sometimes you can do everything right and they just don't want to bite. I post my skunked reports at times because its better than no posts at all. Not every day can be epic and if nothing breaks and you don't drown its good to be out fishing smile smile
