Been fishing below the dams where they releasing the water in 4 different areas lakes. And they all have a lots of fish in there, to be able to catch them is different story. My question is, where are all those fish from? I always thought they are from the down stream lake, but what about the lake cooper? I had caught a bunch of crappies from down there.

Those fish occur naturally in the river, native fish. Once current is strong enough, fish will face into the current. They do not like swimming with a strong current. Since it's very difficult for fish to hold in place they gradually move forward as they feed. Eventually, they arrive at the choke point. Also, this may be where most of the food source is coming from. Lots of injured bait fish come thru the gates.
