I'm fishing a 600 acre private lake in North Texas. Usually by this time, we have caught a ton of slabs up shallow. So far this year, no one has really found a mess of slabs. Anybody with decent numbers is catching smaller ones (males I assume). Did we just miss the run? Any thoughts?

Full Moon is April 22, I usually try and fish often 2 to 3 days prior and during the Full Moon. In my experience it is when most of the bigger crappie will be in the shallows.

I would concentrate on water 6'-10' until then.

Thread fin shad spawn will also concentrate both bass & crappie in a small area of the lake.
