Has anyone else noticed that you can catch many crappie on a certain color jig, but the big fish (for me) usually come on specific colors. I don't use minnows but I know they catch anything that comes by.
I usually have 8 or 10 poles rigged with an assortment of colors if I haven't been on a lake in awhile. I will fish 2 colors and change after 20 or 30 minutes if the bite is slow.
Eventually you will start catching fish on a random color but (for me) big crappie either come on blue/white or blue/chartreuse.
I don't know if the color appears to be a bigger profile to the bigger crappie, maybe more subdued because the colors aren't real bright.
I know there are allot of very experienced guys on here, have you ever noticed a trend where one color excelled at catching bigger crappie?

I keep a dozen rods rigged up with a plethora of colors. Water clarity dictates what I use.

If you fish with 2 rods with 2 jigs you will catch big and little fish on the same jigs.Darrell
