It's not worth your trip.The lake is silted in only 7ft deep..River full of gar.Darrell

Fish can be caught further up river from Fort Parker in the winter, but there are better options.

Navasota River at Ft.Parker has huge crappie but it's too early.Mid to late October is when they start to stage.November is usually a great month but it all depends on the weather cooling.

That really depends on what you call Huge.My best day it was snowin hard caught 27 best day ever on the river.Darrell

It's been several times I've limited out on the Navasota but I fish late evening from around 4pm to midnight.Bite is better once sun goes down and fish go shallow.I usually fish maybe half a mile down from the ramp headed away from the lake.

Crappiehunter, you are right maybe to early. Went Tuesday and nothing I mean nothing up the river. LOTS OF DEAD SHADS. Nothing but gars turning the water.

Normally after the first hard freeze you will see crappie start to show up with some size to them.They gradually get better as the water cools.
