I used this ramp last Thursday and it was $10. I just called them to see if it was still open. It is open and now they are charging $20 to use it. That is ridiculous just because you have the only ramp on the lake doesn't mean you have to screw people. Needless to say I wont be fishing grapevine until another ramp is accessible.

They need to charge more since there isn't any parking really for trailers and maybe the high fee will discourage others like yourself from using the ramp so it's available for their members? I'm sure they don't want 150 boats a day launching there even though they can make a lot of money.

In times of "disaster" that can be consider price gouging, and therefore illegal. Might check attorney general's website.

I agree with Stucky. Three marinas members using one ramp will probably get busy. I don't think a boat ramp would fall under "price gouging". There is no emergency to get on the lake. Unless you are out of fish.

Price gouging? Maybe but they will claim simple economics of supply and demand, kind of like "summer gas".

$20 dollar launch fees are not that high when you consider everything else you spend to fish.

I did not know that they are allow to do this around the Park. Didn't they post $10.00 gate fee at the entrance? unless that sign is under the water so they can jack up whatever they want to?

Thanks for your words there Stucky, but I wont pay $20 to go fish for a couple hours after work. I am assuming that you are a member of silver lake and want it to yourself, so have fun with that.

Nope, not a member of Silverlake but I have been in the past. Just saying that although the price is stupid high, there is a reason it is that high and it's not to price gouge. They can't handle everyone in the area to launch there consistently.

Last Friday while going over the Grap Dam, We saw a Huge Tree, floating, just out in Mid lake, looked like a Jon Boat till we got closer. The Dam is filled with Large trees/logs. If you go out go SLOW. $20 bucks to get on the water is not extreme, with what is going on, and Yes they prob did that to keep it low traffic. Heck Jerry Jones changes $8.00 per Beer at a Cowboy Game... now that is Stupid High.. lol

if weather holds out this weekend, I just may pay the $20, for a 4 hour Fish trip..
