Cedar Creek crappie report 4-1-12 The crappie bite this week has been fantastic. We are fishing 1/16th & 1/8th oz jig heads and slab bandit baits from www.crazyanglertackle.com our new favorite is the Texas Toast. For the last two years Ive only carried 2 colors of jigs on my boat. I am now carrying three, and thats saying a lot. I think these baits are great. Boat docks and brush piles are holding lots of fish. The bite is normally light but with a little practice and patience we can take you from novice to veteran on a jig bite. Most people move there jig so much that they never notice the bites. We start off teaching you to recognize the bite by holding the bait still and slowly adding the little things that will seperate you from the novice. 2 pounder released in hopes of catching her when shes 3 plus. Just something we've been doing for a couple of years now. Last year we released two 3 pounders in hopes of catching them again. The bite is great! Call us today and let us take you on a trip of a lifetime!

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Nice! Wish I could afford it.

I've used Chuck several times over the past few years and have another trip planned in a couple of weeks. He is a great teacher and I'll never be at his level but, feel it's more than worth it to spend a half day with him learning a little more each time we go out. Even if you are a pro, Chuck can show you the little things that make a difference especially here on CCL and in my opinion, it's money well spent for everyone that loves our sport.

Took Sherri last year and got to fish with Chuck and Lane; what a deal. We had lots of fun checking out piles that Chuck wanted to show Lane. Lots of crappie. I put Sherri up front right beside Chuck, and he had her catching fish in 5 minutes. Fun trip; you need to give it a try.

Guy we have been catching lots of white crappie this year. If you look back into my pictures from March we had some days that 90% of our fish were white crappie. Now that we are back to fishing the lake instead of the creek were catching less whites but still getting quite a few mixed in. I'll start paying attention to the percentage. Your right about not normally catching black crappie. I can remember not hardly ever catching them 6-8 years back.

Excellent photos and catches you have there. Next time I'm in the area, I'm calling your guide service.

great report and THE MIGHTY slab bandits in texas toast work great in our neck of the woods as well. keep up the great work !!!
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
