 Hook 2 7 triple shot

I bought a Lowrance Hook2 7 triple shot and I need some information about mounting it on a ram mount and the transducer. The transducer is a long one and I am afraid I will knock it off every time I put it in the water, any suggestions on mounting would very helpful. I have a Triton 18cTX, aluminum, and thought about putting one of those mounting boards on the back of it rather than drilling holes in the boat itself. Thanks in advance for any comments or help.

I have the same fish finder on my pontoon. I've said the same exact thing on how long it is, I'm just careful about how I walk around the boat but it's a great unit.
