Saturday I had Bruce and his SIL Charles out, Charles had never jig fished for crappie and wanted to learn. The trip started out pretty steady but the bites were very light , we had quite of few nice fish come off right at the boat . but that was just the start of the bad luck streak.
Just about the time the guys were getting fine tuned (8:30 am) the steering cable broke on my ultrex trolling motor, when it did it spun around until it snapped my transducer cable as well
Just because we had no sonar up front or trolling motor wasn�t going to stop us from enjoy the trip and catching some fish. Bruce and Charles were as cool as they come, thanks for being understanding of the circumstances and sharing the boat with me!



Being I had trips for Sunday and Monday on the books I needed to find a trolling motor quick being the repair shop is closed until Tuesday.
I have to give Big thank you to my buddy David for loaning me his spare fortrex trolling motor!

Today I had Milton and his SIL Tony out , Milton was no stranger to Fishing but hasn�t fished In a few years and was ready to get back in the saddle!
Tony just moved to Texas and had never jig fished before either. I have to give these guys credit, it was very tough To get bites today . there was no real pattern for the day but they hung in there and loaded the ice chest with some very nice fish . Thanks again guys! Looking forward to having yall back out on the boat again!

Thank you Banker, it was a struggle without my preferred equipment. I have them back now and read to terrorize some slabs!
