didnt feel like fighting the waves all day so just for fun decided to see how many fish I could catch shallow without leaving the white flint cove area. caught 9 fish with 2 different techniques, casting jigs near the bank, and reeling back to the boat, and casting a jig around 20 inches under a cork, and letting the waves do the work, anything with a curly tail seemed to work. . caught fish in 3 to 5 feet of water scattered all around the coves around white flint. wasnt able to work some areas as thorough as ID of liked due to the wind blowing my boat around
wind layed down a bit so I went fish the bridge for a bit, zero, then went check some areas around mc gregor park area, found plenty new piles, somebodys been BUSY. thank ye!!!!, once the fish start gathering on brush, should be fun. seems to be mostly small fish starting to gather on the brush in the north end. small fish are the last to leave the brush in the fall and first to arrive in late spring early summer. all except 2 fish caught were small males, 11 to 12 inches as usual from the bank.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Was planning on chasing up you or Aqua on Wednesday for some fishing on the almighty Belton (I heard Ken was busy roflmao). However, my buddy in Jerrel, said there was a mega dominant boar hog running folks up trees that needed some remedial attention, and asked for my help, soooo I just need to see if I can dispatch the rascal, instead of fishing my way through Belton...I will bring a pole, Ok a couple...just in case, that rascal shows up, and I don’t have to spend a week messing with him.

Keep those fish corralled just in case, it works out...danged ole boar is holed up in Bone Hollow...Texas history, look it up!

Wife lived in what is now the bottom of Lake Belton and I lived close by. We've never heard of Bone Hollow. Not much on Google. Just curious about it.

Must be the cemetery? Good luck

Great report LP, appreciate it. If i could ever get a break from work and the wind I'd be out there. It may be time to retire scared

2 of the females had egg sacs that looked quite immature, either weeks away or reabsorbing, but caught in 4 to 6 feet of water, so I cant tell ya what the heck is going on, just go fish,! ha

working those points and coves in your kayak would be fun and productive, I bet you could catch a nice mess for sure. Even walking around those coves on the bank.
I was spinning and rolling on my ship all afternoon, amazing how the wind spins your boat in high rock coves on belton.
A roadrunner with a curl tailed plastic jig in a bright color would be a good choice in bait. anything to get ther attention.
