Been tying my own jigs with matzuo hooks and have noticed they have been breaking recently.

Anyone else having this problem?

There were some that broke. There was also a bunch of counterfeits floating around and they really had an issue with those. Seems the anodized red hooks were the worst. I use the black nickel hooks had have never had one break.

I pour my own jig heads with Matsuo hooks purchased from a well know local store. I have had several occasion where the hook breaks like that and they are the chrome ones. However I powder coat my jig heads and bake them too, so I am wondering if the baking process compromises the strength of the hook and make them brittle.

Have baked 1000's of them, with no ill affect....

You just got a bad batch of hooks, it happens.

Heart breakers for sure!!

I don't think you get them hot enough to be a problem. Have had the same issues when using nail polish with no heat...

In the past, I had that issue with some black nickel matzuo hooks...I like the bronze hooks, they will bend almost as well as the round hooks, and over and over again...so add in some braid and you don’t retie very much...
